Expands reach in CVS and introduces new collection.
July 25, 2016
By: Melissa Meisel
A salon-formulated hair care line for kids, SoCozy has entered the chain drugstore realm and at the same time expanded its offerings with an athletic-inspired range. You can say this rising beauty brand is in the swim of things! After a self-proclaimed “blockbuster” launch year, SoCozy’s multi-functional products will extend their reach to more than 4,000 CVS stores nationwide. The expansion will lead with a curated collection of existing products, including Cinch 3 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Body Wash, Cinch Super Hydrating Conditioner and Cinch Detangler + Leave-In Conditioner, Boo! Lice Scaring Shampoo and Boo! Lice Scaring Spray, featuring natural ingredients to effectively keep lice at bay, and Behave Styling Cream, formulated to calm frizz, define curls and smooth all styles. “SoCozy pioneered the evolution of the children’s hair care category, filling a need for multifunctional products with safe ingredients that appeal to parents, and solving specific kid’s hair concerns to simplify their daily routines,” said Cozy Friedman, co-founder of SoCozy. With more than 20 years of industry experience, she is noted as being the founder of the first children’s hair salons in New York City, Cozy’s Cuts for Kids, which inspired the cornerstone collection. The brand is currently on track for triple-digit growth in 2016, and the move into the chain drug sector demonstrates their continued dedication to providing specialized children’s hair care to parents nationwide and meeting consumer demand. “The chain drug channel is a natural progression for the SoCozy brand. Our products are so successful because we develop the formulas based on feedback from Cozy’s salons. We answer a need in this market for customers seeking multi-tasking yet safe, effective products,” added Scott Gurfein, co-founder SoCozy. This summer, SoCozy rolled out the Splash collection that includes Swim 3-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Wash and Swim Leave-In Treatment + Detangler. The Splash collection features effective formulas with natural ingredients that cleanse and repair to spare swimmers’ hair, tackling the harsh effects of pool chemicals, salt water, and the sun. The line launched online at SoCozy.com. Other products are available as well as Old Navy and Walgreens. According to Friedman, it’s the unique ingredients that are moving the brand forward. She told Happi about the new summer collection: “Activated charcoal removes calcium salts, chlorine buildup and minerals that cause green tones, the phytic acid and vitamin C blend neutralize the film of chlorine left behind and hydrolyzed jojoba esters create a protective barrier around hair.”
